Teens and Technology @ The Independence Public Library

Independence Public Library's Tech Blog for video games, the internet and library events.

Music Discipline is a good site for practicing your shredding skills once you know the basics of playing a guitar.  To use Music Discipline you choose your instrument (just lead guitar for now), select how much time you have, and then PRESS BUTAN! That’s it, music discipline generates a exercise for you to practice with and once you’ve registered on the site it tracks your progress.

Choose Your Own Adventure

Thursday, April 26, 2012

When I was a kid and used to come to the library I loved the “Choose Your Own Adventure Books”.  And even farther in the past before Roblox and even Super Mario Brothers we had these types of adventures as video games! They were called Muds and playfic.com is where you can make your own text only adventure.  Short on graphics but long on fun be sure and check them out and maybe even make your own!

Tower Defense Games!

Thursday, March 8, 2012

One of my favorite types of web games is Tower Defense. You build towers and defenses then upgrade them as wave after wave of monsters come to attack something. Very simple games but as the game goes on they get more and more difficult here’s one I found recently that is a ton of fun!

Now everyone can relive my childhood at virtualapple.org. You can enjoy classic educational games like the above or if you just want to play games and steer clear of the “book learnin’s” there are plenty of games like that too!
